A Life In Music

Music has been part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. I started playing guitar when I was young, and by college I was writing, recording, and performing with my band, Atoms for Peace. Music stayed with me through all the years that followed—even while teaching became my career and writing became an increasingly important part of my life.

I’ve played guitar and bass in bands for more than three decades, and I’m still playing today. The videos here tell a little of that story: one looks back at my life as a musician, and the other features music I recorded with Atoms for Peace during my college years.
